Motorola is gearing for a keynote event in Los Angeles on November 13 where it will most likely launch the long-rumoured Moto Razr foldable phone. The company is now sending out invites to the media for the said keynote and while it hasn’t explicitly named the product, it has teased the “highly anticipated unveiling of a reinvented icon.” Also briefly teased in the invite is the phone itself with the tagline “you’re going to flip.”

The Moto Razr foldable has been a long time coming. The phone was supposed to launch sometime in the beginning of this year.

The updated Moto Razr will reportedly be exclusive to Verizon which means that it will be exclusively available in the US (at least, initially) and it will start at around $1,500 which is still in the affordable ball-park when you consider the Samsung Galaxy Fold or the Huawei Mate X.

Moto Razr V4 rumoured specs

Rumoured hardware specs include a 6.2-inch main display with 876x2142-pixel resolution and a secondary cover display with a resolution of 600x800-pixel, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor paired with 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage. The foldable Razr phone is said to pack 2,730mAh battery and will reportedly come in three colours: white, black and gold.

Renders of the alleged Moto Razr 2019, expected to be called the Moto Razr V4, leaked online recently giving us a first-hand look at what could be in store. Moreover, one of the renders also showed off the alleged Moto Razr 2019’s retail box as well as the bundled accessories.

As per the renders, the Moto Razr V4 could ship with a wireless charger, earbuds, USB-C charging cable, a power adapter and a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle in the box.

The 2019 Moto Razr will be a foldable phone but it won’t be as drastic a foldable phone like the Samsung Galaxy Fold or the Huawei Mate X – in fact, a patent filing seems to suggest it will look a lot like the original Moto Razr, which means that it will also be a flip phone. Only, the new Razr will have a screen (possibly OLED) on the inside that will simply pass through the hinge.
